Teams

LEE has both internal and member-facing teams. Each team focuses on a different aspect of our work, such as elected leadership, policy and advocacy, or organizing. The most qualified applicants for these teams often have experience in one of those fields.

Our member-facing teams

Regional Impact

Develops deep relationships with members and cultivates strong partnerships to advance our work on a local and national level. With staff in all LEE regions, they work with members to identify and connect them with fitting opportunities while building a strong, regional network to advance issues of educational equity.

Elected Leadership

Works to inspire a diverse group of members to seek and serve in elected office to create impact for kids in their communities’. They work to develop our members' leadership by building their campaign and political skills; through preparing for, and running strategic campaigns, and increasing their effectiveness once serving in elected office.

Policy, Advocacy & Organizing

Cultivates a diverse group of policy, advocacy, and organizing leaders to creating meaningful change for students and families in the communities LEE serves. The team partners with LEE members to train and build a strong network of leaders who have the relationships, resources, skills, and supporters needed to successfully act on the issues that most matter to students and their families. The team also identifies and cultivates talent in order to place members into fellowships and senior policy, advocacy, and organizing roles across the country.

Leadership Development & Design

Advances members’ ability to achieve their vision for educational equity across different roles in politics, policy, advocacy and organizing. LDD designs and shapes the experiences through which members clarify their values, strengthen skills, develop knowledge and increase awareness of their identities and leadership styles so they can achieve their vision for change. LDD collaborates closely with other LEE teams to ensure we are consistently designing and delivering high-impact programs to advance our members’ skills and effectiveness in politics, policy, advocacy and organizing.

Our infrastructure teams

Partnerships & Infrastructure

Builds and sustains the organizational infrastructure and culture necessary to develop our diverse membership into a base of leaders building power toward educational equity. The team works to attract and retain diverse talent in order to drive impact, ensure sustainable funding, and develop reliable systems and processes that help staff to achieve even the most ambitious of goals.

Supporter Relations & Communications

Drives the vision, strategy, and execution to grow true believers in LEE's work. The supporter relations team works to engage individuals and philanthropic organizations who align with our values. The communications team develops and executes various/varied strategies to engage LEE members in civic leadership and to grow the LEE brand.

Technology

Bolsters and scales LEE’s impact by embedding innovative technology throughout LEE’s work. They are an integrated partner with every LEE team. The Technology Team analyzes and improves processes, deeply understands the problems being solved, and delivers solutions with precision and quality. They strive to empower and inspire staff and members through education and the demonstration of impactful technology-driven solutions.

Office of the Executive Director

Leads the organization and makes decisions regarding LEE and our members to increase our impact. This office is responsible for communicating with external partners, donors and board members. In addition, the OED builds and maintains relationships with other key stakeholders in this work.
