Jamaal Nelson is the vice president of regional impact and interim vice president of elected leadership at Leadership for Educational Equity (LEE).
As vice president of regional impact for Leadership for Educational Equity (LEE), Jamaal Nelson works to grow the organization’s field presence in communities across the nation. Before joining the leadership team, Jamaal managed a high-performing portfolio of regions as LEE’s senior director of regional impact. Prior to joining LEE, he led civil rights movement-building efforts in multiple sectors including, but not limited to, the faith-based community, historical civil rights organizations and low-income public school parents. Additionally, he has worked on numerous state legislature campaigns across the country. Jamaal earned a Bachelor of Science from Vanderbilt University and Master of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School. He is the proud father of three young daughters.
