How We Hire

  • Learn more about what to expect during the application process.

We look for talented leaders with the skills, qualities and experience necessary to provide high-quality leadership development to our members and drive our organization’s growth and improvement. Our staff members embody our core values and are committed to ending the injustice of educational inequity by inspiring and supporting a diverse set of leaders with classroom experience to engage civically and politically.

Each application process may vary depending on the position and the team. After you submit an application, your resume will be carefully reviewed by a member of our team. Due to the volume of applications we receive, we can only guarantee communication with candidates moving forward in the application process. We apologize that we are unable to provide feedback if you are not selected to move forward.

If your profile meets the qualifications of the position, a member of our team will reach out to discuss next steps with you. The process will include interviews with various members of our staff along with a hiring exercise. If you are selected to interview with us, we will do our best to regularly communicate with you during the hiring process.

Michael Vargas
Manager, Candidate Ready Development
LEE has embarked on one of the most consequential endeavors in our society. Given that education is the civil rights issue of our time, LEE is attempting to build the capacity of former teachers and education leaders to make educational equity a reality in underserved communities across this great nation. Although it is no small task, we are relatively successful because of the wonderful organizational support and development it offers its employees on a continual basis. The organization’s flexibility and transparent professional vulnerabilities is what I like the most. I am able to work from home in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas, where I am able to serve my community as an elected school board member, but also inspire and motivate others to run for office as a member of the Elected Leadership Team.

The best part of working at LEE is being part of an organization that is not only willing to take on the monumental challenge of educational equity, but that approaches that vision in a very inclusive and practical way. Working alongside such a diverse group of individuals all committed to achieving this goal is not only very satisfying but incredibly inspirational. LEE truly gives me an opportunity to do work worth doing.
