October 6 - Don't Forget

Since political involvement is a primary focus of LEE, the following announcement may be of interest and use.

Why is October 6 important?

That is the last day Texas residents are allowed to register to vote in the November general election. Texas requires voters to register 30 days before an election date, and this year that date is: October 6.

Visit the Texas Secretary of State's Office online to find more detailed information, or just fill out the following form and mail it to the nearest voter registration office, postmarked no later than October 6 to register to vote.

You may also request a postage paid voter registration card by filling out the following online form.

Am I considered a resident? Am I eligible to vote?

If you have a Texas Driver's License or an ID issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety, you are eligible to vote, as either ID establishes your residency in Texas.

If you do not have either form of ID, but believe you are a resident of Texas, you can submit the last four digits of your social security card.

For more information on this process, you may visit the Texas Voting page on the Texas Secretary of State's Website.

I encourage everyone who is a resident of Texas to register to vote, and to share the details of this process with anyone else who may be interested!
