What my kids can learn from Newton and November 4
Today we learned about force. That in Newton's first law of motion. That an object at rest will stay at rest. And that an object in motion will stay in motion. Right now, our country, our world is stuck in a crisis. Our economy on the brink of collapse, the climate crisis and a divided nation.
NOVEMBER 4: Arizona Democratic Party Election Night Celebrations
AZ School Works is proud to be a co-sponsor of the Maricopa County Democratic Party Election Night Celebration from 7:00 - 9:00pm at the Wyndham Phoenix (50 E. Adams Street). At 9:00pm, we will then head over to the main ballroom for the Arizona Democratic Party Celebration. I would like to extend a personal invitation to all our supporters to join us for what we hope will be an historic and tremendously exciting evening as we watch the election results come in.
The Final Sprint--How You Can Still Get Involved
Election day is almost here. All the commercials, robocalls, debates, and doorknocks all come down to this. If you find that your candidates are ahead in the polls, remember, none of it matters unless the people who answered those polls actually go out and vote.
So, with lessons from the past still fresh in the memories on both sides, Democrats and Republicans are embarking on a massive Get Out the Vote (GOTV) drive. Campaigns are won and lost with GOTV drives--really effective ones can swing an entire race. In fact, this year GOTV efforts are going on prior to Election Day, in states with early voting.

Vision and Qualifying Statement for Del Rey Neighborhood Council Election
Qualifying Statement
As a resident of Del Rey, I'm excited to be running for Secretary of the Del Rey Neighborhood Council. Throughout my career as a teacher, Director of teacher training programs, and community activist, I've had extensive experience planning and excecuting large projects. I've secured large grants for school improvement, led technological advancements to support teacher resource exchanges, and planned community events. More importantly, I've successfully engaged community members at all levels in ensuring that these projects benefit the community's needs and interests. As Secretary, I will continue supporting the needs of our community through effective and transparent management of the Neighborhood Council's business.
Vision Statement
In an election year that has brought new life and attention to the importance of community involvement, I am honored and humbled to be the candidate for Secretary of the Del Rey Neighborhood Council.
As a career educator, I spent 5 years teaching 5th grade in Compton and now teach new teachers throughout the Los Angeles area. Always mindful of issues related to our community's schools, I will work tirelessly to aid and support the critical work already occuring in Del Rey's schools.
This election is about bringing us back to the days where neighbors knew each other, looked out for each other and helped each other out. In a city as large as Los Angeles, neighborhoods tend to blend together. It is my intention to bring the small town neighborhood connections back to Del Rey. It truly is about bringing neighbors back into the neighborhoods.
