Massachusetts governor Deval Patrick unrolled his new proposal for comprehensive improvement of education over the next ten years. While it includes some bold new ideas, many are disappointed at what was most noticeably absent - an intention to lift the cap on charter schools. In trying new approaches, is the governor overlooking some tested-and-true solutions in Charter Schools?

Emerge America national affiliate director Kimberly Ellis spoke to Teach For America alumnae interested in building their political leadership during a webinar held on Tuesday, June 3rd.
Emerge America is the premier training program for Democratic women inspiring them to run and honing their skills to win. Emerge affiliates operate long-term political leadership training programs in seven states: Arizona, California (northern), Maine, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Mexico, and Wisconsin.
Through a new partnership, Teach For America alumnae who apply to Emerge programs will automatically advance to the second round of Emerge's competitive application processes.
