Mission & Vision

As Teach For America corps members and alumni, you know that educational inequity is a problem that can be solved. We need leaders at all levels of government who know firsthand that students in low-income communities can achieve--leaders who have a record of achieving ambitious goals and are determined to continue changing our country and ending the achievement gap.

You are one of those leaders. Given your experience teaching, you have a unique perspective to bring to politics and government. You have the knowledge needed to create new solutions that will result in meaningful change within our schools and communities. Learn about alumni who have already begun to utilize policy, politics, and government to close the achievement gap.

And LEE can help. Leadership for Educational Equity (LEE) was not just created for alumni who've already assumed leadership positions in politics, but also for all corps members and alumni who wish to become active in the political process. Our mission is to build a robust community where Teach For America corps members and alumni can network with one another and develop the skills needed to take on leadership positions in politics. By providing resources, establishing opportunities, and strengthening networking among alumni, LEE can help you in your continued effort to end the achievement gap.
